The course is aimed at candidates who wish to take DELE exams:

The goal is that the candidate improves and reinforces the 4 skills of the language (writing, reading, listening, speaking) and grammar.

SPANISH LANGUAGE CERTIFICATIONS (DELE)

Are official titles certifying degree of competence and mastery of the Spanish language, granted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain. It is possible to obtain DELE certification for six different levels:


Students of this level will have sufficient linguistic competence to engage in situations that require a basic level of communication.


EXAM SECTION

Reading Comprehension 45 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must read a text (150-175 words) and answer to the multiple-choice questions by selecting one of the four answer options.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must relate texts (20-30 words each ones) with very short statements. The texts could be notes or annotations in agendas, catalogs, advertisements, instructions, posters or signs.
  • Task 3 - The candidate should relate brief texts (20-30 words each one) to statements by people. The texts could be brochures, advertisements, or catalogs.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must complete short statements with information extracted from several texts (175-200 words). The texts are short announcements or notices drawn or adapted from informational or promotional material, posters or signs, labels or packaging, bills, etc.
Listening Comprehension 20 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must listen to five conversations (20-30 words each one) and answer to the multiple-choice questions by selecting one of the four answer options.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must relate short messages (20-30 words each one) with images.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must listen to a text (160-200 words) and relate specific data of the text with statements
  • Task 4 - The candidate must fill blanks in brief statements with information extracted from a text (150-170 words)
Expression and Written Interactions 25 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must complete a form, with fields of brief answer, in which personal information, general and basic, is requested.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must write an epistolary text (a postcard, an email, a message or a brief letter), an announcement or information note (30-40 words).
Expression and Oral Interactions 15 minutes(+15 min. prep.)
  • Task 1 - The candidate must hold a short previously prepared monologue about personal identity data.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must hold a short previously prepared monologue about a topic of the immediate personal environment.
  • Task 3 - The candidate will conduct various short exchanges with the interviewer, who was cooperative and slow and clearly communicated. The candidate will perform tasks from the corresponding graphic material and following the guidelines and instructions of the interviewer.

Certifies that the student is able to communicate using the language in a basic way in situations having to do with immediate needs or everyday situations.


Students of this level will have sufficient linguistic ability to understand a basic range of the commonly simple and immediate relevance of expressions used in the Spanish-speaking world (basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).

Reading Comprehension 60 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must understand brief and simple instructions, notices, instructions or rules, to use services such as those offered by banks, health centers, shopping malls or transportation stations; use machines installed in public spaces, such as ATMs, ticket vending machines or fire extinguishers; find a place; consume products; activate or maintain appliances or react to emergencies.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must identify the main idea and find specific, simple and predictable information, in brief epistolary texts commonly used.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must identify the relevant ideas and extract specific, concise and predictable information of brief and simple informative texts.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must extract specific and predictable information from informational or descriptive texts of habitual use that deal with practical aspects of daily life or areas of immediate need.
  • Task 5 - The candidate must identify essentials of biographies or short and simple narratives or identify the general idea and subject changes in brief, simple and very structured news.
Listening Comprehension 35 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must grasp the general idea of short radio notes or headlines of an informative or professional type, emitted at slow speed and articulated with clarity.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must grasp the general idea and the changes of news in radio news or short and simple fragments of foreseeable and very structured content.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must identify the essential information contained in recorded or megaphone material.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must understand the general information and extract simple specific data (schedules, prices, places, dates) of transactional telephone conversations with predictable and highly structured content.
  • Task 5 - The candidate must grasp the main idea, the situation and the changes of topic or sub-topic in informal conversations of predictable character on aspects of daily life.
Expression and Written Interactions 50 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must exchange simple personal information relating to the environment or to everyday affairs, such as habits, wishes, tastes or preferences. He will do it with brief and basic sentences.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must exchange information about his or her personal environment regarding everyday matters through postcards, notes, letters, messages or emails (70-80 words).
  • Task 3 - The candidate must write a descriptive or narrative text based on some data that will be provided in the exam.
Expression and Oral Interactions 15 minutes(+15 min. prep.)
  • Task 1 & 2 - The candidate must provide basic information about the practical and everyday life experiences.
  • Task 3 - The candidate will participate in a brief conversation of transactional type in order to satisfy basic survival needs.
  • Task 4 - There will be an informal conversation from a simulated situation.

Certifies that the candidate can understand commonly used, everyday phrases and expressions related to areas of experience especially relevant to them (basic information about themselves, and their families, shopping, places of interest, work, etc.).


The DELE level B1 accredits the necessary linguistic competition to comprise the salient points of clear texts and in standard tongue on questions known; describe experiences, events, wishes and desires; explain plans; and justify opinions in brief.

  • Task 1 - The candidate must relate the statements of people or statements with texts (40-60 words).
  • Task 2 - The candidate must read a text (400-450 words) and answer the multiple choice questions by selecting one of the three answer options for each of them.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must relate the three input texts (100-120 words) with questions or statements.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must complete paragraphs (400-450 words) with brief statements.
  • Task 5 - The candidate must read a text (150-200 words) of an epistolary nature, of the public or personal areas and fill the gaps by selecting one of the three options of answers for each of them.
Listening Comprehension 40 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must listen to six texts (40-60 words) (advertisements, personal messages and announcements from the personal and public spheres) and answer to a multiple choice question for each of them by selecting one of the three answer options.
  • Task 2 - The candidate should listen to a text (400-450 words) describing the speaker's personal experiences (personal, public, professional and academic sphere) and answer to a multiple choice question for each of them by selecting one of the three answer options for each of them.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must listen to a radio or television news program (350-400 words) with 6 news items and answer to a multiple choice question on each of them by selecting one of the three answer options for each of them.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must listen to informal monologues or conversations (50-70 words) in which anecdotes or personal experiences about the same subject are told and relate statements with six texts.
  • Task 5 - The candidate must listen to a conversation (250-300 words) between two people and answer to a multiple choice question on each of them by selecting one of the three answer options for each of them.
Expression and Written Interactions 60 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must write a letter or forum message, email or blog ..., which may include description or narration (100-120 words).
  • Task 2 - The candidate must write a composition, wording, entry Journal, biography ..., which may include description or narration, presentation of information and personal opinion. Two options are offered, from which the candidate has to choose one (139-150 words).
Expression and Oral Interactions 15 minutes(+15 min. prep.)
  • Task 1 - The task consists of a brief monologue (80-100 words), previously prepared, and based on a topic and questions that the candidate chooses between two given options (2-3 minutes).
  • Task 2 - The candidate will have a conversation with the interviewer based on task 1 (3-4 minutes).
  • Task 3 - The candidate will have a conversation with the interviewer from the presentation of an image (2-3 minutes).
  • Task 4 - The candidate will have a conversation with the examiner to simulate a daily situation, based on the photograph of task 3 (2-3 minutes).
Total Exam Duration: 3 hours and 20 min.

Certifies that the candidate can understand commonly used, everyday phrases and expressions related to areas of experience especially relevant to them (basic information about themselves, and their families, shopping, places of interest, work, etc.).


The DELE level B2 accredits the necessary linguistic competition to understand the main ideas of complex texts that treat of subjects so much concrete like abstract, even if they are of technical character, and produce clear texts and detailed on diverse subjects.

  • Task 1 - The candidate should read a complex informational text (400-450 words) of the public or professional sphere and answer six multiple-choice questions with three options.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must relate four input texts (130-150 words) with ten statements or questions.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must complete paragraphs in a text with six short sentences (between 15 and 20 words) selected from eight options.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must read a text (literary, historical, biographies ...) and fill in the gaps by selecting one of the three answer options for each of them (400-450 words).
Listening Comprehension 40 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate should listen to six conversations (40-60 words each one) and answer the multiple-choice questions by selecting one of the three answer options.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must recognize the ideas that are heard in a conversation (250-300 words) and relate them to certain people
  • Task 3 - The candidate will listen to a radio or television interview (400-450 words) in which something is exposed, described or argued. The candidate must answer the multiple-choice questions by selecting one of the three answer options.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must relate statements (50-70 words each one) to the people who express those ideas. The text statements could be short monologues or conversations from the professional and academic fields that narrate or describe experiences, or express opinions, or advices of the speaker.
  • Task 5 - The candidate will listen to a text (400-450 words). The text could be a conference, speech or monologue in which describe or narrate projects or experiences of the public, professional and academic fields. The candidate must answer the multiple-choice questions by selecting one of the three answer options.
Expression and Written Interactions 80 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must write a formal or informal epistolary text (200-250 words), in which the ideas and arguments are presented in a clear, detailed and well-structured manner, respecting the conventions and features of the genre.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must write a formal text (150-180 words) in the form of an opinion piece for a newspaper, blog, magazine ..., in which the main and secondary ideas are presented in a clear, detailed and well-structured manner.
Expression and Oral Interactions 20 minutes(+20 min. prep.)
  • Task 1 - The candidate must hold a brief monologue and talk about a series of proposals to solve a problem. There are two options, from which you have to choose one to prepare (6-7 minutes).
  • Task 2 - The candidate must hold a brief monologue on a situation and talk about it. There are two options, from which you have to choose one to prepare (5-6 minutes).
  • Task 3 - The candidate will have a conversation with the interviewer from the presentation of an image (2-3 minutes).
  • Task 4 - The candidate must hold a brief informal conversation from a written or graphic stimulus. Two options are offered, from which you have to choose one, which is not prepared.
Total Exam Duration: 3 hours and 50 min.

Certifies students’ ability to interact with native speakers with a sufficient degree of fluency and spontaneity to enable easy and natural communication between interlocutors; produce clear and detailed texts about diverse topics, as well as defend an opinion about general topics, expressing the pros and cons for each argument; and lastly, understand the gist of complex texts about both concrete and abstract topics, including technical texts, provided they are within the candidate’s area of expertise.


The DELE C1 guarantees that the progress of the student in the language has been a success, and certifies more than an advanced level of Spanish.
This diploma certifies sufficient linguistic competence to:

  • Understand a wide variety of long, quite demanding texts, as well as recognize implicit meanings in them.
  • Express themselves fluently and spontaneously, without any obvious effort to find the right words.
  • Use the language flexibly and effectively for social, academic, and professional purposes.
  • And be able to produce clear, well-structured, detailed texts on topics having a certain level of complexity, with correct use of mechanisms for organizing and articulating a cohesive text.

  • Task 1 - The candidate should understand the general idea and specific data and of professional and public sphere (650-750 words), and answer by selecting the appropriate response to the multiple-choice questions with three possible answers.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must recognize the structure of an extended text (550-650 words) and grasp the relationship between ideas.
  • Task 3 - The candidate shall identify the content and intent or point of view in news, articles and reports (500-650 words), which deal with professional and academic issues, selecting the appropriate answer to multiple choice questions with three possible answers.
  • Task 4 - The candidate shall locate specific and relevant information in short texts (100-150 words), dealing with issues related to the academic world, linking the input text with short statements.
  • Task 5 - The candidate shall identify appropriate structures and vocabulary in a long text with full linguistic repertoire (375-425 words).
Listening Comprehension 50 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must understand the main points and extract specific data from a text
  • Task 2 - The candidate must recognize specific details or relevant feelings, attitudes, and intentions in brief transactional and informal conversations.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must grasp the essential idea of what is being said, extract concrete and detailed information and infer possible implications in interviews and long debates.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must capture the pragmatic and sociolinguistic connotations in a series of dialogues.
Integrated skills: listening comprehension and written expression and interaction 80 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must grasp the main points of an oral text and produce a text (220-250 words) that contains a personal assessment or opinion. The audition will last approximately 4 minutes and will be heard twice.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must write argumentative or epistolary texts (220-250 words) in order to persuade, argue, value or comment on something.
Integrated skills: reading comprehension and oral expression and interaction 20 minutes(+20 min. prep.)
  • Task 1 - The candidate must understand the fundamental and most relevant information of extensive and complex written texts, and summarize and value them orally.
  • Task 2 - The candidate must intervene in a conversation by arguing his position and responding in a fluid way to complex questions, comments and arguments.
  • Task 3 - The candidate will have a conversation with the interviewer from the presentation of an image (2-3 minutes).
  • Task 4 - The candidate must exchange ideas, express and justify opinions or make assessments in order to negotiate and reach an agreement with his interlocutor.
Total Exam Duration: 4 hours and 20 min.

Certifies sufficient linguistic competence to understand a wide variety of lengthy, and somewhat demanding texts, as well as to grasp implicit meaning in the same; to express themselves fluently and spontaneously without apparent effort to find the right words; to be able to use the language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes; and finally, to be able to produce clear, well-structured and detailed texts about topics of some complexity, correctly using mechanisms of organization, articulation and cohesion in the text.

  • Task 2 - The candidate must reconstruct the structure and identify the relationships between the ideas of extensive texts.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must locate specific and relevant information in short texts that deal with aspects related to the academic field.
  • Task 4 - The candidate must understand the main points and extract specific data from the text.
  • Task 5 - The candidate must recognize and infer intentions, implications or consequences in brief auditory texts, in which different speakers express opinions on a specific topic.
  • Task 6 - The candidate must understand and identify specific data in debates or interviews concerning the public and professional spheres
Integrated skills: listening and reading comprehension and written expression and interaction (150 min.) 150 minutes
  • Task 1 - The candidate must collect information from different oral sources (a text) and written (two or three texts).
  • Task 2 - The candidate must transform a text into a different genre or register, making the changes and corrections that are necessary in the tone, structure, punctuation and vocabulary.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must write or draft a specified genre text based on graphical supports or very short written stimuli.
Integrated skills: reading comprehension and oral expression and interaction 20 minutes (+30 min. prep.)
  • Task 1 - The candidate must understand and transfer information of two or three texts (700-800 words) and one or two images (graphs, diagrams, graphical humor), which express different aspects, circumstances or opinions on the same subject (they may be contrary or not , may have different information and different register).
  • Task 2 - The candidate must intervene in a conversation with the interviewer, responding in a fluid manner to interviewer’s questions, arguments and requests for clarification or details by the interlocutor.
  • Task 3 - The candidate must participate in an informal conversation with the interviewer.
